I work with writers to help them shape, bring clarity to and focus their work. I teach skills and strategies that are helpful for all writing genres, creative, academic, business, etc.
I write poetry, fiction, essays and am a former freelance book and film critic and English language arts curriculum writer.
My poetry has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and a California Book Award.
My most recent essay was published in the Smith Alumnae Quarterly.
My poems have been published in West Trestle Review, Essential Truths: The Bay Area in Color, The Lake County Bloom, Poem of the Day at The San Francisco Public Library, Wordpeace, and elsewhere.
I've been an Artist in Residence with the California Arts Council and have been awarded residencies at Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Vermont Studio Center, Hedgebrook, and the Writers on Site Program of Poets and Writers, Inc. sponsored by the James Irvine Foundation.
