I write poetry, fiction, essays, this blog, and a Substack titled Write in Peace – Be in Peace. I write on napkins in restaurants, slips of paper, and in my early years I wrote on walls (my mom put the brakes on that).
My poetry collection, How it Happens, was published by Nomadic Press (2018) and is now available through Black Lawrence Press. I’m grateful to be able to say the collection was nominated for a California Book Award. My poetry has also been nominated for a Pushcart Award and has appeared in West Trestle Review, The Bloom, WORDPEACE, riverbabble, Essential Truths: The Bay Area in Color, San Francisco Public Library Poem of the Day, and elsewhere.
I am a teacher, tutor, workshop leader, mentor, and have been called a “writer’s midwife” by students and clients. I help writers build confidence, strengthen craft, and develop audience awareness.
I love dark chocolate, yoga, T’ai Chi, walking, hiking, dancing, music, and have been playing around with photography for many years.
