I write poetry, fiction, essays, and this blog. I write on napkins in restaurants, too. My poetry collection”How it Happens” was published by Nomadic Press (2018) and nominated for a California Book Award. My work has appeared in The Lake County Bloom, WORDPEACE, riverbabble, The Squaw Review, Milvia Street, The New Voices of the American West, Temba Tupu! Walking Naked, and elsewhere.
I support fledgling and experienced writers, performers and public speakers in telling their stories. I am a college instructor, tutor, writing workshop leader, writing coach, and have been called a “writers’ midwife” by students and clients. I help writers build confidence, strengthen craft and develop audience awareness. I love dark chocolate, yoga, T’ai chi, walking, hiking, dancing and music.

Hello!
I’m reaching out to you in hopes to have you read any of your wonderful works at an Open Mic event @ Black Diamond Cafe. We’ve met briefly a couple weeks before your reading at Berkeley Public Library on Claremont recently. We would be very grateful to be graced with your presence.
Sincerely,
Josh
